The Genesis Project Artists' Talk
Join us for an Artists’ Talk on August 3, 2-4 pm about the fifth and final iteration of the year-long mural project, The Genesis Project.
The Genesis Project
“The Genesis Project” is an ambitious, year-long collaborative wall exhibition, featuring a group of 10 artists who have been selected by many of the visual art stakeholders in the Gateway Arts District. During each “Volume,” the selected artists will come together to create an immersive wall piece. Each “Volume” will allow artists to use previous work as inspiration to work over or alongside the original piece. The end result will be an all-encompassing mural that defines the creative brilliance that lives and breathes in the Gateway Arts District.

Resonance: Works Which Hold
“Our job as artists is to become consciously resonant to the world, rather than alienated from it; to connect with others and to create the conditions for resonance among us. We do not do this by forcing our will upon the world, rather we create circumstances in which resonance might occur.”
The Art of Resonance, Anne Boggart

Movement
Whether in their composition, subject matter, or technique, some artists truly capture a sense of motion—there is a dynamic flow and energy that is immediately evident in their work. From porcelain, watercolor, and acrylic, tophotography, digital prints, and everything in between, these artists use a variety of media to move the viewer.
The dates for this exhibition will also stretch from summer into the fall, so the seasons will create their own wave of change over time.
